Hi, welcome to my website! I am Seyeon, Ph.D. Candidate in Macro Organizational Behavior at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Prior to Stanford, I received a master's from the University of Oxford and a bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania, both in Sociology. I am originally from Daegu, South Korea.

I am on the 2025–26 academic job market.

I am presenting my job market paper at the upcoming Wharton's People and Organizations conference.

My research is driven by questions at the intersection of entrepreneurship and labor markets. Startups are celebrated for their contributions to economic growth, yet most startups face steep challenges due to limited resources and uncertain futures. My dissertation takes this dual reality seriously and aims to advance our understanding of why, when, and how these challenges arise – both across the startup hiring pipeline, from attraction to recruitment, and in the career trajectories of individuals with entrepreneurial experience.

You can find my CV here.
